Strom Thirty Five.

Salut!

For those who missed out seeing Scanner the Famous Guinea Pig recently, I should let you know that I am safely healed from a very unpleasant mouth operation that meant cancelling a bout of work over two weeks whilst I eat soft food and comtemplated the future of eating only baby food. Photos are available to scare away members of your family.

Work of course continues. I'm off travelling this week to cities beginning with the letter B, namely Bruges, Brussels in Belgium, and then Berlin. Following this I move on to places beginning with the word New, so New York and New Zealand. There seems to be a narrative hidden here somewhere.

Bruges looks to be very entertaining: '.WAV / waves over the canals' is an invasion of sound in Bruges. Along a free walking path through the city over the summer will be new installations by a host of intriguing names, among them Pierre Bastien, Philip Jeck, David Toop and myself. Every day from 15.00 to 22.00 you can experience this alternative acoustic experience. More info at:

More unusual collaborations with contemporary music composers continue in the next week with the premiere of new compositions by Jean Paul Dessy and myself in Belgium, alongside Stockhausen and DJ Olive on 14 June at Le Botanique in Belgium, then further explorations with the work of Salvatore Sciarrino premiered in Berlin with UK artists D-Fuse graphically illustrating the sound.

For those who missed the extraordinary sold out Play evening in London, it will be travelling slowly around the globe, beginning in Italy in June. Set in a stunning medieval fortressin Fano in the Marche region, the show will feature Coil, Mouse on Mars and myself presenting new work focusing on the influence of computer games.

So...back to my suitcase...

As always, if receiving this little infrequent mail is troublesome then simply let me know.

Ciao

Robin / Scanner
