Strom Five
Hello again.
'SCANNER IS A CRACKHEAD'
A shock revelation to all and sundry though not quite what you expected... I spent last night in hospital having split the top of my skull open by mischance and resembled a human money box for the evening. Though temporarily resembling a Sperm Whale with blood ejecting at high speed, thanks to the appliance of medical science I now possess a medium sized slash across the top of my head delicately glued together with purple glue which, as you can imagine, looks most fashionable.
A few more dates for your diaries if you wish follow - the Actual Factual performance collaboration between UK artist Tim Head & choreographer Laurie Booth and myself is moving along well and is an entirely improvised event. In Glasgow the 4 metre high sculptures that twist at high speed as part of the set took it upon themselves to rip a ladder off the wall and move across the floor, triffids fashion!
The new studio Scanner album entitled Delivery will finally be released in the last week of April on Earache Records in Europe and on Rawkus in the USA. 50 minutes of new material, ranging from abstraction to composition. A series of live shows will be following this throughout Europe (dates below) and others in USA (MTV in NYC will premiere a special film made for the album).
So, come to any of the shows and you'll get the chance to examine the scar close up!
As always, I welcome any correspondence, questions, cookery tips, or medical advice (wear a crash-helmet is one possibly!).
If this is all rather too dull simply remind me to stop sending it to you.
Thy best.
Robin Rimbaud
