Colour Planes
3 bis F Gallery as part of Arborescence Festival
Aix-en-Provence France
This project explored an idea of landscape and the resonance and meaning of
your surroundings. Using the Provence countryside as its inspirational focal
point, the images and sound were been distilled into an imaginary narrative,
woven into a work that breaks down the visual field into planes of colour and
texture. This contemplative work charted a contemporary reading of Cezanne
and his visionary eye.
The exhibition consisted of 12 large scale digital prints, a floor sculpture
created from 300 bottles, a wall drawing of apples contributed by the public
in exchange for a free apple, and an isolation cell where sound and smell were
used to suggest an image of the mountains.
